Spring Book Fair
Our spring book fair is coming, and just in time too with summer on its way! The Bedford Falls book fair company will be bringing books to our school that appeal to all grade levels and reading abilities at affordable prices. There will be a large selection of bargain priced books, Battle of the Books titles (4th & 5th graders), plus new and noteworthy books that your child will love. The book fair begins on Monday, May 1st and continues through Friday, May 5th from 7:00am – 3:00pm. On Tuesday, May 2nd the book fair will be open during our Art/ Music show beginning at 5:00pm and concluding at 7:30pm. Every class will have the opportunity to shop the book fair during their media class time, parents are welcome to come during lunch or media class times.
Please consider volunteering at the book fair. All volunteers will receive a $10 gift certificate to use at the book fair. Thank you in advance for your invaluable help. Beginning on Monday, April 24th, students can visit the media center to pick-up a ‘Book Jacket Art’ contest sheet. Students in grades 3-5 are encouraged to take a sheet home and design a new book jacket for a book that they have recently read and will write a few sentences to recommend the book to a friend. Students in grades K-2 can also participate by drawing a picture of their favorite part of a book and will write a sentence about why they liked the book. All artwork is due by Tuesday, May 2nd. Participating students will have their names added to a drawing to win one of three $10 gift certificates for the book fair. Please note that this is an optional activity for students to complete at home.
On Friday, May 5th students are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favorite book character. In order to participate students must bring the book in which their character is from with them to school. The class with the highest participation will receive a popsicle party.
