STEM in the classroom

How do you create a tower to hold the "New Year's Ball"? Students in Ms. Sanders' 2nd grade class used the Engineer Design process to create the tallest tower possible which could hold a "New Year's ball". After students planned and created their towers they evaluated their work and made necessary changes. This activity gave students the opportunity use their knowledge of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to solve a real world problem.
