Union County Public Schools (UCPS) is excited to bring back two initiatives aimed at supporting the educational and nutritional needs of children in the community this summer. The UCPS Mobile Book Bus and the Free Summer Meals Program will provide valuable resources to children, ensuring their well-being during the break.

UCPS Mobile Book Bus: 
The UCPS Mobile Book Bus is set to roll out on June 17, bringing the joy of reading directly to elementary-aged children throughout the summer. This retrofitted bus will travel to various schools and community locations, offering students access to a wide selection of age-appropriate books at no cost to their families. Children will have the opportunity to board the bus and choose books that capture their imagination, nurturing a love for reading while combating the summer learning slide. Free Summer Meals Program: 
District leaders understand the importance of proper nutrition for children's growth and development, and we are dedicated to providing healthy and nourishing meals during the summer break. The School Nutrition Services department will provide free lunch meals for children aged 18 and under.

Curbside Pick-up Only

Dates: June 17 - July 11

Days: Monday through Thursday

Time: 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Locations: Marshville Elementary, 515 North Elm Street, Marshville and Rocky River Elementary, 500 N Rocky River Rd., Monroe

All sites will be closed on Fridays, June 19 and the week of July 1. Atrium Health Union will offer free lunch to children 18 and under through the Kids Eat Free program.
