The Marvin Ridge Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter recently traveled to Orlando, Florida for their annual fall trip. Forty students participated in business seminars hosted by the Disney Youth Education Series (Y.E.S.) program as well as the Universal Studios Business Education Series. The programs allowed students to learn valuable teamwork and business skills.
The seminars were both informational and hands-on. Many lessons incorporated interesting games involving improv and team building. Students also received the opportunity to film promotional videos, participate in business-themed scavenger hunts and impromptu speaking. This active style of learning allowed the FBLA members to get a firsthand look at how the parks operate and understand what it takes for any type of business to be successful.
While seminars were a large portion of the trip students still had time to explore EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Studios. Some students even managed to get into a viewing of a Disney Christmas show! The FBLA Orlando fall trip was an informational and fun experience for all who attended and we will be able to use the skills obtained for years to come!
