Welcome to the Year of the Pig!

To celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year, and to welcome the Year of the Pig, Marvin Ridge High School hosted an amazing Chinese festival. Attendees were able to practice Calligraphy, make Chinese Lanterns, compete in a Chopstick challenge, participate in sports popular in the Chinese culture, and taste yummy samples of food.

Students from the Marvin Ridge Cluster performed for the audience, including songs, dances and plays about the Lunar New Year. The Hung Gar Kung Fu Academy also performed the Lion Dance, and there were special performances from the Chinese Phoenix Arts Troupe.

We extend a special welcome to our sister-school guest teacher and students from High School Affiliated with Nanjing University: JiangNing Campus, China, a heartfelt thank you to the Marvin Ridge High School PTSO Globalization and Culture Committee, and to the Marvin Ridge Cluster Chinese Community for their leadership, time, creativity, and dedication in organizing this festival celebration for all to discover and enjoy.
