This is a picture of our group, who traveled with Explorica in June for 10 days. We spent our first two days in Paris, then to Chartres. We saw three chateaux of the Loire-- Chambord, Azay-le-Rideau, and Chenonceau. We traveled south to Provence and visited the Pont du Gard, which is a first century AD Roman aqueduct that is completely intact, and it is on the UNESCO list of historical places. We went to Arles and saw an ancient Roman arena and theatre, to Cassis, an quaint ancient fishing village, where we went on a day cruise to visit the Calanques on the Mediterranean. We ended our visit in Nice, where we made a day trip to Eze, and the Fragonard perfume factory and Monaco to the Prince's Palace. It was an unforgettable trip and we had a fabulous time.
The pictures are of our group in front of the Pont du Gard, and at the port of Cassis, where a 13th century chateau overlooks the port.
