Dhillon Takes The Win At VEXIQ Tournament

Noreen Dhillon, a 7th grader from MRMS, recently made headlines in the Falcon IQ Winter Robotics Tournament. Noreen and her independent robotics team, The Robotic Monkeys, faced fierce competition from both school teams and other independent teams, but emerged as the skills champion among all middle schools.  They will now move forward to compete in the South Carolina State Championship oN February 28th.

Noreen’s initial interest in robotics stemmed from her older brother, an original member of the Robotic Monkeys.  She joined his team, and when he moved on to high school two years ago, her younger brother joined the team, as well as a friend from Fort Mill.  This second generation Robotic Monkeys team has worked together over the past two years, resulting in their first-place win in the skills competition.  With no formal coach or teacher providing guidance, this win demonstrates the teams’ hard work and dedication.

With such a strong foundation and impressive track record, it's no wonder that Noreen is considering a career in robotics. In addition to robotics, Noreen’s favorite subjects are Math and Art.  She also enjoys swimming.

We are so excited for Noreen and the success of her team, the Robotic Monkeys.  We look forward to following their success at the South Carolina State Championship later this month.
