On Thursday, January 30th, over 70 members of the Class of 2025 learned about the Holocaust from the primary and secondary sources at the Union County Public Library.
In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, students examined sources, and created tribute butterflies with the Butterfly Project.
Students reflected upon their learning, "I've never heard of concentration camps before now... I knew everyone was discriminating, but I didn't know they killed the females because they thought they weren't strong."
While our scholars have not yet began their study, this served as an introduction to the horrors of the Holocaust and WWII, and always as a reminder to never forget.
