3rd Grade Gets Creative with Literacy and Pumpkins!

Recently, the third graders participated in a Pumpkin Literary Book Character Challenge. The rules were simple.  Select a book that you have read, and choose one character from the story to focus on. Then, create this character using a pumpkin! They could paint it, carve it, glue things to it or dress it up - the possibilities were endless!

A short book description had to be included, explaining why the book was recommended for others to read and why they chose the character they did. All students exceeded our expectations! They did an amazing job, and pumpkins are still on display in the media center for all to come and see. Stop by, and maybe check out one of their suggestions.

Happy Fall, Y’all!
