If your favorite Specials class is Art with Mrs. Kearns, you’ll be very happy to know that she continues to engage with students by doing drawing instruction videos upon request and joining homeroom classroom Zoom sessions to stay in touch. Perhaps you’ve already seen her during one of your classroom Zoom sessions!
Although Mrs. Kearns has enjoyed spending time with her family she had already been away from school for 5 weeks prior to the quarantine and is very ready to see all of her HAWKsome students!
When she’s not in the classroom, Mrs. Kearns can be found leading the Set Design Club and guiding the Backstage Ninja Crew for the school play in the fall and coordinating an Art Show in the spring which highlights student artwork she selects throughout the year. Due to the school closure, she would love to try to have a virtual art show with art work she had already selected as well as figure out how to do a virtual art show of pieces created by students at home during the quarantine. Stay tuned for more details!
While at home, Mrs. Kearns has been painting and doing acrylic pours with her sons and likes to really flex her creativity muscles by trying new recipes in the kitchen; she has already created and enjoyed many different versions of fruit mousse!
Did you know that Mrs. Kearns LOVES Japanese contemporary art, especially Takashi Murakami? Check out her FlipGrid (password is Swooper2020) and leave a video telling her how you’re being creative while you are at home, show off some of your quarantine artwork or a culinary masterpiece (cake decorating anyone?) – art can be found everywhere!
