Union County Board of Education approves updated instructional models and schedules

At its Sept. 22 Special Called meeting, the Union County Board of Education met to discuss Plan A, Plan B and Plan D. The presentation includes information about updated health and safety guidelines

In an 8-1 vote, the Board approved recommendations from the Superintendent as follows:

Sept. 25 – Oct. 4

  • Virtual Academy application period via Scribbles for all elementary parents who wish to remain in or transition to Plan D for the remainder of the school year.  

Sept. 29

  • Under Plan B, expand learning options, including adding a second day of in-person instruction for those families who opt for face-to-face teaching and learning. A full-time virtual option will remain in place under Plan D. Principals will follow up with parents this week with information about schedules.                                   

Oct. 26

  • Under Plan A, Pre-K - 5 students will begin in-person instruction Monday - Thursday and work remotely on Friday for those families who opt for face-to-face teaching and learning. A full-time virtual option will remain in place under Plan D.
