Mr. Meier Showcases Artwork in the 2017 NC Artists Exhibition in Raleigh
The North Carolina Artists Exhibition is currently being held in Raleigh, NC from March 12 to April 27, 2017. The purpose of this event is to "further art in the community, encouraging public appreciation, enthusiasm and support and for North Carolina artists." The first Raleigh Fine Arts Society exhibition was held in 1964 at the Olivia Raney Library in downtown Raleigh and has now become an annual event for artists around the state. This year, Mr. Scott Meier, Parkwood High School art teacher was selected to show his work at this event.
Six hundred and seven works were submitted and only seventy-two works were selected to be shown. Mr. Meier's painting "Big Jesus" was selected as one of those seventy-two. The opening ceremony was held on March 12, 2017 at the Duke Energy Center for the performing Arts in Raleigh, NC. The paintings were for sale, and Mr. Meier's painting sold within the first fifteen minutes. Parkwood High School is very proud of Mr. Meier and his accomplishments.
