Three Kings Day 2023

By: Gustavo Arévalo – UCPS Latino Outreach Coordinator

Over the weekend of January 6th & 7th, students from Ms. Stacie Thompson’s Spanish Classes & Club at Cuthbertson High School continued the yearly tradition of celebrating “Three Kings Day” in and around the community.

Students and their families worked together for several months learning about the cultural importance of this holiday in the Latino community. They also donated and wrapped gifts before finally delivering them directly to over 20 Latino families' homes around Union County. Some that participated also dressed up as the Three Kings and experienced first-hand how delighted the children were to see the Kings on their very own doorsteps, bringing gifts especially for them.

This was truly an immersive community effort of sharing time, kindness, and culture. This activity personally connected CHS students to our Latino community in a very special way, allowing an opportunity to use their Spanish locally and spread joy during the Holiday Season.

Big thanks to all that participated and donated their time to make this event yet another memorable experience for all involved.
