Peer Group Connection at Parkwood Middle School

WHAT IS PEER GROUP CONNECTION? (PGC)

Peer Group Connection- Middle School is a research-based program that supports and eases students’ successful transition into middle school.  Centered on the themes of Identity, Community, and Leadership, the program taps into the power of 8th graders to create a nurturing environment for incoming middle school students.

Peer Group Connection is a leadership course that will be offered during Bear Block.  Through this course, 8th graders will become trained peer leaders who will meet at least three times a month with 6th grade students.  These meetings are designed to be outreach sessions to strengthen relationships among students.

This program will enable student to practice essential academic, social, and emotional skills such as decision-making, time management, teamwork, and communication.

We look forward to watching our awesome 8th graders grow into their leadership roles this year and helping our 6th graders be the best they can be!
