American History Students Tour Historic Monroe Courthouse
Students from Mr. Stokes' American History class recently visited the Historic Courthouse in Monroe to learn more about the Courthouse and the book, "Inherit the Land". The book is about a white family who left their land in Marvin to an African American man and his daughter in 1921. According to Stokes, "It was great for students to hear about history in their own backyard." A special thanks to Union County Government employees Donna D'Alessandro, Amanda Austin, and County Manager Mark Watson for making the living history lesson so memorable.
