Entering ninth grade can be one of the most emotionally difficult, most academically challenging times in children’s lives. In fact, according to The School Superintendents Association, researchers have identified 9th grade as the most critical point to intervene and prevent students from losing motivation, failing, and dropping out of school. To assist incoming freshmen with this important transition, Piedmont will offer the Freshmen Transition Camp on August 13 from 8:30 - 11:30 am. Incoming freshmen will have the opportunity to meet school administrators and learn about ways they can get involved with high school life. In addition, students will learn about the high school's policies and procedures as well as how to plan for graduation and life after high school. This is not Freshmen orientation as that will be held on August 22 at 1:30 and 2:15. Interested freshmen must sign up at https://forms.gle/Go8kDYFwNWabi816A and have their ride drop them off using the Love Mill Road entrance next to the auditorium. Questions about the event should be directed to Angie Medlin, 9th grade administrator.
