Students Visit Historic Williamsburg

Honors U.S. History students experienced living history first-hand by visiting sites such as Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown Virginia this past week.  36 students toured Jamestown National and State Parks where they toured a recreated Indian village, boarded replicas of the original ships that brought English settlers to the New World and saw what life was like at James Fort.  In Colonial Williamsburg, the group witnessed the dramatic first meeting of George and Martha Washington, met with Thomas Jefferson, participated in a trial of one of Blackbeard’s pirates, visited the Governor’s Palace, dined at a colonial tavern and danced at the Capitol Building.
