Recently the owners of Double Up Farm visited our third grade students. Students have been reading the book "Riding Freedom", which takes place during the 1800s.
“Mr. and Mrs. Double Up” shared a little about what life looked like on the farm during this time period. They taught the students about all different types of animals that produce wool and the process of using wool to create clothing (now and then). Children had the opportunity to feel and compare different types of wool, practice weaving, ask questions and they were even given wool bracelets.
The Double Up Farm is open to the public and is a friendly, educational environment for the whole family. You can learn more about the farm by visiting their website at https://www.doubleupfarm.com/.
