PRHS 2022 Grecian Nights
Saturday, May 7th Porter Ridge High hosted their annual Junior & Senior Prom. The prom was planned by faculty sponsor English teacher Rachel Lukasik and the 2022 Prom Committee. This year's theme was Grecian Nights and the event was held at Founders Hall in Uptown Charlotte.
When asked about this year’s prom Lukasik commented, “Prom was held at beautiful Founder’s Hall in Uptown Charlotte. Students arrived looking classy and elegant for the Grecian Nights theme! The prom committee was excited to give the juniors and seniors a white and gold prom under the glass ceiling that matched the columns, balloons, and white palm trees that surrounded the room. The exquisite desserts and delicious buffet coupled with the excitement on the dance floor made for an evening I know students won’t forget! In the middle of the event, Silas Medlin and Sarah Myers were crowned prom king and queen and represented Porter Ridge with grace and class, as did the rest of the prom court. The photo booth was an absolute HIT! Students waited in line to capture the evening on a photo strip, and I couldn’t have been more proud of my prom committee that helped usher in 628 students to the event, the largest in Porter Ridge history! It was a complete success and I appreciate all the helping hands from teachers, staff, and administration who helped make it happen.”
The prom committee members were Kennedy Boddie, Nina Corella, Julia and Sammie DeGroot, Marisa Huntley, Sailor Melvin, Bella Neiberger, and Carmen Smith. They were in charge of set up and take down of décor and also took tickets for every student at the prom.
Guests were treated to good music, drinks, desserts and finger foods. Many pictures and snaps of attendees having fun and making memories that’ll last forever were posted on social media.
