Last March, Nurse Grace Fisher joined the Porter Ridge High School staff. Nurse Fisher has 17 years of experience and graduated from Illinois State University in 2005. She is an RN, has a BSN and has worked in many hospitals in the ER, cardiology, surgical intensive care, and pediatrics. 

When asked why she became a school nurse, Fisher said, "I love kids and want to improve the health and well being of everyone at the school, staff included. I love the hours for working versus in the hospital because they coincide with my two sons' schedules. They are in elementary school and middle school."

Her favorite thing about being a school nurse is: "The variety every day! I get to be around students, up and about, speaking with parents about health improvement, educating staff, helping students enjoy their school day, working as part of a team to make students' high school experience positive." 

Porter Ridge is excited to have Nurse Fisher as a part of the school!
