Prospect’s Beta Club collaborated with Union Power Cooperative to plant two crepe myrtles at Prospect.
Prior to planting the trees, representatives from Union Power came to Prospect to teach the students about the importance of trees and safety around power lines.
The students enjoyed helping them plant the trees. Ethan Spurlock’s favorite part was putting the mulch around the trees.
While the Union Power representatives were at Prospect, they demonstrated how to get out of a car if a power line had fallen and the car was on fire.
The kids enjoyed learning to be safe around power lines and plant a tree with their new friends at Union Power.
“Miss Hill went up in the bucket truck and we could tell she was scared because her hands were shaking” said Emma Goins.
The Beta Club cannot wait to see how big their trees grow in years to come!
