The week of April 23rd-April 27th Prospect Elementary celebrated career and college readiness spirit week where students got to dress up each day according to the theme.
On Friday, fifth grade students participated in a career day event held in the gym. There were 10 presenters for students to explore. Presenters included Taekwondo instructors, a sonographer, commutations coordinator, airport manager, veterinary technician, bank managers, fire captain, disaster responder, home builder and a 4-H youth developer.
Zyriah Bridges, a 5th grade student, shared that she really enjoyed the Taekwondo instructors and the fire captain. She learned through career day that you have to do well in school to learn the skills needed for a job. This was a fun way to help our students focus on setting goals for their own future.
