Kindergarten Students Rockin' the View!

Students working in Kindergarten

Our Kindergartners are off to a great start!  We are learning how to be great citizens in our classrooms as well as our school.  We are working hard to establish routines in Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop by showing what good readers and writers do.  We talk about what these activities look like, feel like, and sound like.  Books can take us anywhere we want to go, without leaving our space.  Our new Orton Gillingham program helps us learn our letters and sounds by engaging all our senses at one time.

Our special classes are favorites as we are becoming wonderful artists and musicians!  We are enjoying being French speakers and working out our bodies in PE.  Another favorite is Inquiry Lab where Mrs. Z helps us stretch our minds!  We are learning that lots of questions have more than one answer.

Math Block is where we explore what numbers really are.  We are practicing writing our numerals like a kindergartner.  Whew, it is not as easy as it looks!

Next time you are at our school, be on the lookout for some caterpillars, cookies, crayons, monkeys, and pandas!  You will see them Rockin’ the View!
