Board of Education honors educators for attaining National Board Certification

Catherine Herbert Congratulations to 27 educators who have either received or renewed their National Board Certification, bringing the total of number of NBCT in UCPS to 286.

Candidates for National Boards have to submit a complete portfolio containing four different entries, each containing direct evidence of teaching, as well as a commentary describing, analyzing, and reflecting on the evidence.

One teacher, Catherine Hebert from Monroe High School, (pictured at left) received her national certification, while the others (listed below) renewed their certification.

The Board of Education recognized some of those at its Tuesday, (Feb. 7, 2017) meeting.

The renewal process is not re-certification, bur rather a process by which the applicant compiles and submits a Profile of Professional Growth (PPG).
