How do you show your school spirit?

I show my school spirit by greeting students and staff whenever possible.  Sparking a friendly conversation goes a long way. This helps to maintain a friendly atmosphere on the school campus while being personally engaged in everyday happenings.  

What or who inspires you?​

I get inspired by everyday acts of kindness. Anytime someone reaches out to help a person in need, I am inspired to believe we can make this world a better place.

In which other teacher’s class would you like to enroll for a day? Why?

I would love to be enrolled in Mrs. Salema's classroom for a day. Mrs. Salema has some great instructional strategies. It would be fantastic to create cross-curricular content that is relevant to NC standards and yet incorporate English and social studies.

If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share?

Life is one big lesson. It is important to be open to change because the world is continuously evolving. Value your education, continue to strive in a positive direction, and make wise choices.

What is a professional motto or quote that you “work” by?

I love the quote by Melanie Koulouris:

"Always give your all in everything you do, because when you look back, you will know you gave your best with what you had, and you will be so grateful for how far you have come."

What do you enjoy most about working in UCPS?

Union County Public Schools provides me with the opportunity to be a leader with today's youth. Teaching is a balancing act of being creative in the classroom, captivating your audience, and motivating students to achieve.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

The ability to teleport from one location to another with speed and agility.  This would allow me an opportunity to travel the entire world within my lifetime. Hopefully, I would have mastered my superpower enough to explore space and other planets!
