Kaylee Tarlton (Antioch Elementary)

What are your most and least favorite subjects and why?

Science is my favorite because I like to make experiments. This year, we’ve done experiments with force and motion. We had heavy objects rolling down an incline and they go farther on a less friction tile. A marble versus a steel ball won’t go as far.

We learned about body systems, too. I found the digestive system the most interesting; how everything gets processed and how important it is.

Reading is my least favorite, because I don’t really like the activities. I do like to read. I am reading the book series I Survived, which is about natural disasters. I also like Junie B. Jones series because they are funny.

If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?

I would go on a cruise because I’ve heard they are really fun. I’ve been to Disney World but I’d like to go on a Disney cruise. I like going to the beach and playing in the water, so it would be nice to hang out a the pool area.

I think there would be a lot to do on a cruise. I’ve seen videos of people ziplining, which could be a fun adventure. Maybe I could watch a sunrise or a sunset or both.

The farthest place I’ve gone to is Florida.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I’m interested in major league sports, especially basketball, baseball and softball. I’d like to be a professional basketball or softball player.

I’m also interested in being a scientist and studying ecosystems. I love figuring out how the earth works and how animals and plants survive. My interest in it was sparked this year because of my science class, but I’ve always liked being outdoors and exploring.

What do you do for fun?

I like to play sports. Here at school, I’m going to be part of the broadcast crew from May to June. The crew gets to help with the announcements. We announce things like the daily lunch menu and lead the pledge of allegiance. I’m excited about it.

I play pool with my younger sister. It can be a foosball table, too.

If you had to choose between spaghetti or pizza, which would you choose?

Pizza because it’s really good. My favorite topping is pepperoni and a cheese-stuffed crust.

What three words best describe you?

  • Caring
  • Sporty
  • Adventurous

What is your happiest school memory?

My happiest school memory was our third-grade field day. I was partnered up with my two best friends and we had water games. We had a wet sponge and pass it over our heads to other people. There were obstacle courses, too. One was to run as fast as you could with a tennis ball and put it in a bucket. The team with the most balls won. We won that one! We had a lot of fun.

What advice would you give your parents or teachers?

  • For my parents, I’d say, “give my sister more chores.”
  • For my teachers, it would be to be more strict with the people who need it.
