Aden Haskins (Sun Valley Middle)
What is your favorite subject in school and why?
My favorite subject in school is English, because I’m the best at it, and I love reading. It also helps me in the real world—especially in interviews like this. It also improves my grammar and helps me read things I might struggle with otherwise. My favorite book series are Percy Jackson and Harry Potter. I usually read about 30 minutes a day, maybe more.
What's the coolest thing you've ever done in a school project or lesson?
I remember making butterflies out of paper in my sixth grade English class. I got to do it with my friends, and it took about a week, so we worked on it in every day. It was fun.
If you could learn any skill instantly, what would it be?
I would want to learn how to excel at sports because it’s something I enjoy. The specific skills I’d want are tackling for football since that’s an important skill and patience for basketball. You can’t just rush things—you have to take your time, or you’ll end up turning the ball over and losing the game.
Would you rather be able to talk to animals or be able to speak and understand any language in the world?
I’d rather speak and understand any language. It would help me get a job and travel without needing a translator.
What's something you're really passionate about outside of school?
I’m really passionate about sports. That’s what I want to do in my future.
What three words best describe you?
- Entertaining
- Patient
- Good listener
What is your happiest school memory?
One of my happiest school memories is from this year—meeting new friends. They are really funny and make me laugh. Some of them moved here from South Carolina, Pennsylvania and other places.
If you could pick any three people to hang out with for a day, who would it be and why?
My three friends—Jalen, Trae and Byrd—because they make me laugh, and I talk to them every day. We’d probably just spend time laughing, playing video games, and having fun. Oh, and go to McDonald’s.
