National Family Volunteer Day is held annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This year Shiloh was chosen as one of 100 grant recipients from all the applications that were submitted nationwide. The $1000 grant funded our event, READ A PALOOZA,held this past Saturday. READ A PALOOZA was an afternoon of fun literacy activities for the children of our community and we raised a total of 2,795 books to benefit the children in Eastern North Carolina who were affected by Hurricane Florence. 70 family volunteers turned out to help with this event, and it is because of them that our first ever National Family Volunteer Day was a big success!
