Students raise money for families affected by Hurricane Harvey
For the last two weeks, our staff and students have been collecting coins for families in Houston that were affected by Hurricane Harvey. For one Stallings second grade student, it was a challenge she met head on! Brynn B., a student in Mrs. Gaines’ class, decided to spend her Labor Day weekend going around her neighborhood and collecting donations. Along with her parents, Brynn walked door-door requesting coins for the good cause. Brynn says she “felt really good raising the money and she was proud of herself because she knew she was doing the right thing.” In one weekend, Brynn raised over $255.00 to add to Stalling’s Elementary collections. Way to go Brynn, we are so proud of you! We truly appreciate all of the families and community members that have contributed!Overall, Stallings' students raised $1875.00!
