Kindergarten has had a busy month. We’ve been learning all about living and nonliving things with a focus on animals and their characteristics. We studied owls and ended our unit with a visit from the Carolina Raptor Center. They brought 4 different raptors, 2 which were owls. The students loved seeing the different raptors, especially the owls.
In Social Studies we’ve been studying the past and comparing it to life today. We’ve learned about how the Wampanoag used pictures for writing, the chores the Pilgrim children had and compared it to writing and chores we use today. We celebrated Thanksgiving in the cafeteria by wearing vests and headbands decorated with Wampanoag writing and choosing a Wampanoag name.
