SVPS Welcomes Mrs. Stephens!

SVPS Welcomes Mrs. Stephens!Hello! My name is Lisa Stephens, and I'm excited to join the staff of Shiloh Valley as an Instructional Assistant. Before this role, I have been part of the SV community as a parent and substitute teacher.  We moved to Indian Trail about 6 years ago, and so you might see me out-and-about at community events with my family.

I am originally from Orange County, California. I graduated from California State University, Long Beach (Go Beach!) earning my B.A. in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Language and Literacy. I have a California Multiple Subject teaching credential with a CLAD (Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development) emphasis and a North Carolina Elementary Education Teaching License. For four years in California, I taught full-time, the first two years in 2nd grade and the last two teaching 1st-and-2nd grade combination classes. I have many more years of experience as a student teacher, instructional aide, volunteer, and substitute teacher.

I enjoy working with students in small groups and learning how each individual best learns so we can help them understand and master the grade-level concepts in an engaging way.

Random fun fact about me: as a child, during elementary and middle school, I did acting extra work in movies and television. A lot of my memories from childhood involve driving to Los Angeles and working on film sets.
