Beta Club Volunteers at Fall Bash

The Sun Valley High School Beta Club provided student volunteers to fill 38 volunteer slots for the Wesley Chapel Fall Bash, which took place on Saturday, October 27th, 2018 at Dogwood Park in Wesley Chapel. SVHS Beta members helped in a number of ways, which included completing grounds set up, running the field games, running the pumpkin bowling, selling soft drinks, and running the scavenger hunt. The games for children that SVHS Beta volunteers assisted with included tug of war, sack race and the mummy wrap. This is SVHS Beta’s third year providing volunteers for this event. The Fall Bash is an annual event sponsored by the Wesley Chapel Friends of Parks and Recreation. This free family and pet friendly event has taken place annually since 2015.

The Wesley Chapel Friends of Parks and Recreation (WCFOPR) was founded to promote parks and recreation opportunities available in the Village of Wesley Chapel, Union County, North Carolina.  Organized in 2012, WCFOPR has actively supported Dogwood Park, Wesley Chapel’s first park, through donations and events to raise awareness of the park and the fellowship it provides for people to work and play alongside each other, ensuring the park continues to thrive as an integral service to the Wesley Chapel area.  To date, WCFOPR has donated eight park benches, a jon boat and water pump for pond maintenance, t-shirts for volunteers at the Grand Opening, and seed money toward the construction of the first dog park in Union County. A number of events are sponsored by the Wesley Chapel Friends of Parks and Recreation each year in Dogwood Park to include the Wesley Chapel Fall Bash and Pig in the Park Amateur BBQ Cook-off.
