SVMS has a new Project Lead the Way(PLTW) class this year called Flight and Space. PLTW is a project that promotes introducing students to the Engineering Process. It involves students in cooperative group work and communication skills related to the Engineering field. This past week students launched their first flight projects.
The two projects were a tetrahedral kite or a hot air balloon. Students were to observe how the two different vehicles fly and discuss the difference in the type of flight observed. We will next be going to the Charlotte Aviation Museum to learn about the Four Forces of Flight and how Aerodynamics are used in building flying machines.
