Valley Expo Provides Preview

On Thursday, March 7th, SVMS hosted its 2nd Annual Valley Expo.  The Expo is a way for current and prospective students and families to learn about the different clubs and activities offered at SVMS.  The Expo comes on the heels of school visits by the students of feeder elementary schools.

SVMS supports a wide-variety of clubs.  There are the traditional Junior Beta Club, FCA, Battle of the Books, Science Olympiad, Robotics Club and Math 24 but there are also clubs like Disc Golf Club, Animal Care Club, Game Creation Club, Rubik’s Cube Club, Sketch Club, Open Mic Club, and Greenhouse Club. There is also a Relay for Life Club, a Writing Club, JROTC, Junior Thespian Society, 4-Square Club, and Lacrosse Club.

There were also teachers and parents on hand to answer questions, food trucks so people didn’t have to go hungry, the Book Fair was in full swing and there were performances from the musical “Little Mermaid, Jr.” and the chorus, and the band.  There were 3-on-3 basketball competitions and the PTO and SVABC were selling Spirit Wear.

The Expo is a great way for incoming families to become part of the SVMS community and to experience all the school has to offer.
