Summer reading is important to keep from losing important reading skills. Students will be expected to read one book off the list under Quick Links. Students who will be taking English I are assigned Animal Farm by George Orwell as their summer reading book. During the first two weeks of school students will be working on a project in class to demonstrate their understanding of the book.
The list includes a brief description of the book, the reading level, the genre, and the number of pages in the book. If you click on the title of most of the books, you will be linked to a preview on Google Books. The preview usually is the first chapter of a book so that students can sample the books so they can choose a book they really like.
