In an effort to serve both in-person and Virtual Academy students this semester, students will have access to media center materials through Destiny, the online catalog system. Students can access Destiny through their Student Startup Page (or more commonly known as their green screen).
By logging into their account students may put any available book in the catalog on hold. Click to get directions for putting books on hold. In-person students will receive their books in their homeroom classes. Virtual Academy students will receive an email to their school account that their book is ready to be picked up from the school.
Returned books are quarantined for five days before being checked in so students can expect a delay in books being taken off their accounts but no overdue fines are charged. If students have books still out from the quick exit last spring they should turn them into the SVMS media center and if they belong to a different school, they will be sent to the appropriate school after being taken off the students’ accounts.
Both in-person and Virtual Academy students will continue to get Media Center lessons in digital citizenship, information resources, and book talks through their ELA classes. In addition, interested students can follow the media center mascot through the Instagram account, svms.schoolelf.
