December 7th - 13th is Computer Science Education Week and to help students learn more about the benefits of computer science classes, employees of Code Ninja met with some interested students. Austin, who is a UNC-Charlotte student who is studying cybersecurity, talked about different programming languages and told students that after they have been exposed to some they could even develop their own language. After showing students what Java script looks like, they directed students to Scratch.
Scratch is a website aimed at students who are interested in coding. It utilizes a block-based language that was developed by MIT Media Labs. The Code Ninjas walked students through building their own game using the Scratch language. One student said that he might pursue coding or computer science because he likes math.
