This integrated Visual Art and Science project is an exploration of NC's 17 river basins. Students in Mr.Barron's 8th Grade Science class were asked to research and study multiple river basins in NC while practicing watercolor, graphic design, and critique techniques with Mrs.McKinney, SVMS's art teacher. Hybrid students created a watercolored, topographic map of NC while Virtual Academy students created posters using an online design program called Canva.
The purpose of this project was to inform the SVMS student community of the topography and ecology of NC's river basins. This project enabled students to practice design and artistic techniques while developing their knowledge of NC's river basins.
