The first grade students at Unionville worked together to raise enough money to provide a better way of life to a needy family like the ones pictured above. The students were asked to complete chores and to donate the money they raised to Heifer International. Next, they worked together to research facts about the different animals. They wrote opinion papers to convince others that the animal they picked would be the best animal to help a needy family. The students worked together to create a poster of their animal. The children then voted on an animal for Heifer International to send to a family in need.
