Celebrating Honduras

Celebrating Honduras

As part of the Hispanic Heritage month, two of our DLI 1st grade classes celebrated and learned about Honduras, the country where one of their teachers came from. They came to school wearing blue shirts, of the color of the Honduran flag. Mr. Ortega, Mrs. Clevenger, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Mills and a special guest Mrs. Podgorny accompanied the kids who had a parade around the schools waving Honduran flags and telling everybody they saw what they were celebrating. They also went to visit the Kindergarten classes and the other DLI 1st grade classes walking proudly in their rooms and telling them what they were celebrating. After the parade, Mr. Ortega presented some information about Honduras, the kids turned and talked about what they were learning and then they made a big book about Honduras following the GLAD strategy.
