This year, we're WILD about going "green" in the art room. Weddington is teaming up with Crayola and schools across North America to help kids understand the importance of their role in protecting the environment. That’s why we're participating in Crayola ColorCycle, a program to collect and repurpose used Crayola (or any!) markers.
We need your help too! By working together, we can eliminate hundreds of tons of markers going into landfills. Please collect any used markers (dry erase and sharpie are OK too!) and send them in with your students. Students will put the markers in our Colorcycle Box until it's full. Then we'll count them, celebrate and I'll ship it to crayola and we'll start another box. It's a small step, but important in teaching our students their actions matter and we can make the world a more beautiful and colorful place! Here's a link to Crayola's Colorcycle information and other green initiatives. Kind of interesting data about CO2 emissions for older grades https://www.crayola.com/about-us/company/green-initiatives.aspx
