Girl Scout Troop 704 thanks the Wildcats for supporting the Toiletry Drive

Girl Scout Troop 704 would like to thank the entire Wildcat community for their support of the recent Toiletry Drive!

Fourth grade student Emma and fifth grade student Anna are working toward their Bronze Award, which is the highest award a Girl Scout Junior can earn. This award focuses on identifying a need in the community and working toward making a lasting change in the lives of others. Anna and Emma worked with WDES and their neighborhoods to collect donations for a Toiletry Pantry that will be located at South Providence School in Waxhaw. Students will have access to items such as soap, shampoo, dental hygiene, deodorant, and laundry detergent. Troop 704 also supported this effort by using proceeds from their cookie sale to help purchase storage for the donated items. The troop will keep this project going through a partnership with St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church.

Thank you to the WDES staff and administration for supporting service learning for our students!
