Market Day was a special activity that focused on economics. All third grade students were given several weeks to create a store and good to sell to other students in their classroom. They had to determine pricing, packaging for their products, and create a visual set-up to appeal to shoppers. They were given 10 Eagle bucks (paper money) to use for the day to purchase each others products. We had a variety of goods, ranging from decorated baked goods, Panthers gear, pet rocks, bookmarks, and more! They learned all about being a producer, consumer, supply, demand, goods & services, salesmanship, budgeting, and counting skills....all while demonstrating creativity and leadership skills.
