WCES celebrates Read Across America Day...with a Global Twist!

Students in kindergarten participated in a variety of Seuss themed activities throughout the day!
WCES students were very honored to have special guest readers for Read Across America day!  Ladies from the Union County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. visited Wesley Chapel as guest readers Tuesday, March 2nd.   They visited classrooms and shared stories of global content.  Students were attentive and highly engaged during the read-aloud segments.   They also enjoyed having discussions with the ladies about the stories and the areas the stories originated from. We are grateful to have had such a wonderful group of individuals visit our classrooms.  It was enjoyable for everyone!

In addition, students and adults throughout the school observed 'Drop Everything and Read' time at the end of the school day. Everyone throughout the building enjoyed 30 minutes of uninterrupted, quiet reading time.

Also, students in kindergarten observed and celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss through integrated activities across the school day
It was a wonderful day at WCES!
