Students in Art class are learning about the artist James Goldcrown also known as jgoldcrown. He is a contemporary photographer turned muralist. We studied his “Bleeding Hearts” series of work and discussed his use of symbolism and bold color choices.
Student’s collaborated to recreate their own version of his art work. We used pastel chalks and repetition to showcase our “Love Walls” which are proudly displayed in our hallways. Students had to be aware of composition and color used to make these pieces of art a success!!!
Collaborative art making is a wonderful practice to promote creativity. When a group of multi-level learners come together to solve a problem, complete an idea, and create an art piece it is an excellent educational experience!
