Help us raise $6000.00 to put a 5.22 kW solar project at our school!

Western Union Elementary is excited to announce that we have been awarded the NC GreenPower Solar+ Schools Education grant!  This grant is providing a 5.22 kW solar array plus a weather station, real-time data monitoring, STEM Curriculum from NEED.org and training for our teachers.  Our school is one of 10 schools in the state to receive this opportunity. Our school needs your help to raise $6000.00 towards the $27,000 total cost for the project.

Our school is fundraising to support NC GreenPower – a nonprofit that provides grants to NC K-12 schools for installing educational solar PV. We need to raise a portion of the total cost in order to receive their grant. Union Power Cooperative has partnered with us already to assist with our fundraising efforts for this project. We look forward to partnering with other companies or individuals willing to help us provide this learning opportunity for our students. Please donate today to help support our cause!

Students and faculty would be truly grateful for any support you can provide to this terrific, hands-on learning opportunity to our school.

To make a donation via check, please make payable to “NC GreenPower” and be sure to note our school in the “memo” section of the check. Mail to NC GreenPower, Attn: Solar Schools, 909 Capability Drive, Suite 2100, Raleigh, NC 27606
