Mrs. Hutchen's Class Learns Capoeira with teacher, Reba Bowens

Our Tigers had the opportunity to train with a Capoeira teacher, Reba Bowens. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form combining acrobatics, dance, martial arts and music. Historically, this art form was created by slaves as a form of proaction during slavery. Today capoeira is practiced by people all over the world. An art created out of oppression during oppression is now used to unify people and build communities.  Our Tigers will be performing her and Ms. Mufuka’s, BHESA dance teacher, choreography on what they learned on Tuesday October 15 at 10:20am for the day show for students and 6:30pm at night show for community/families at their Hispanic Heritage Celebration performance. Come support these hard working Tigers!
