WHS English Summer Reading
Students taking Honors or AP English are required to read the following books. 
Students will write an essay on the assigned book on the second day of class and take a quiz during the first week of school. AP students should only read the books listed for AP Lang or AP Lit. AP students have additional written assignments that are listed on the School Counseling Canvas Page.  
Honors English I: Lord of the Flies by William Golding
Honors Advanced Inquiry: A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen
Honors English II: Night by Elie Wiesel
Honors English III: The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates by Wes Moore
Honors English IV: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll (sold together as one book)
AP English Language and Composition: On Writing by Stephen King
AP English Literature and Composition: Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
