New Principal, Mr. Ferguson, wants to learn from YOU!
New Salem Parents and Students,
This is Mr. Ferguson, your proud new principal!
I am excited about being able to be a part of this school and community. I can already tell that we have a proud past and a bright future!
During the month of July I will be learning as much as possible about our great school! The best resource available to teach me are our families, staff, and community members. Therefore, I will be holding meetings to hear your voice.
In my family, the best time to get on the same page is around the kitchen table. So, I will be facilitating what I call "Kitchen Table Talks," which are simply round table discussions. This way I can learn all about our school's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. I will hold two evenings of meetings based on grade level spans. If you have children in both spans of grades, please simply pick one event to attend.
The first Kitchen Table Talk will be on Monday, July 22 from 6:00-7:00 PM and will target Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade families.
The second Kitchen Table Talk will be on Tuesday, July 23 from 6:00-7:00 PM and will target 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade families.
Again, if you have children in both spans, please simply pick one meeting to attend. Both meetings will be identical.
I look forward to these meetings to have face time with your families. This is a great time to celebrate all the positives our school and community offers, as well as recognize opportunities to become better every day for our scholars.
Thank you and I look forward to seeing you at one of these listening and learning meetings. If you have questions please feel free to call the school and we will be glad to support you.
