3.26 COVID Procedures
This is Mr. Ferguson with a New Salem Update.
Recently there have been some changes in the requirements related to COVID procedures at schools.
First, Executive Order 195 and Senate Bill 220 allow schools to expand after school and weekend activities as long as they meet certain criteria such as they have to be curricular, meet a list of safety guidelines, meet a reduced venue capacity, and more.
This is exciting news as we love anything that gets us a little more like normal.
Secondly, the NC Department of Health and Human Services NOW does not require or recommend daily COVID-19 symptom screening for all students at school entry. Schools will continue to follow procedures for exclusion as they would for any type of illness. This means that we will not be conducting temp checks in the car rider line. With this step going away, please continue to communicate with us and keep your child home when they have Covid like symptoms.
We will continue following our other safety protocols and cleaning procedures to keep our building clean and our kids safe and healthy.
Thank you for your flexibility as move back to normalcy.
Have a great evening.
